Join Cottage Park Yacht Club as a Member

While the dinghy program does provide the cheapest way to participate in Thursday night racing.  For a small increase in cost you can be a full member of CPYC(charge card with $100 chits, invites to all the events, and priveledges year round including discounted boat storage during winter frostbiting season).   If you have a family with multiple people participating in racing, children that want to do youth sailing, or you want to keep a bigger boat at the club on a mooring, or get on the list to get a slip(based on seniority) this is the best option.  If you want to help us grow the Dinghy racing program at the club the best way to do that is to become a voting member of CPYC

Full Member Young Adult Trial Membership
 Conditions  18-30 1 year only
 Cost 750* 509* 375*
* includes a $25 processing fee for application
plus any fees to use the marine facilities:

Laser Storage($65) + Thursday Night Racing($35) = $100
V15 Dolly Storage(105) + Thursday Night Racing($70) = $175

Note the prices above for Young Adult and Full Member include $100 dollars in chits to be used at the Bar.

Young Adult Membership
For anyone under 30... consider becoming a Young Adult Member.  For a laser owner $509+100 = $609, but that includes a $100 of chits at the bar for the summer.  Note You also get a $50 discount on frostbite membership.  So in the end you spend $50 more and you get a vote at the club.

Trial Membership
If you are considering becoming a full member, consider being a Trial Member.  Note you have all the privileges of a member except Seniority, voting or holding office.  If you are trying to get in line for a Marina slip, you want to make sure you are getting on the seniority list.   Note the Trial Membership includes $100 dollars in chits, so the actual membership cost for the first year is $275 dollars.    To store a Laser at CPYC the comparative cost to the Dinghy Racing  Program($400) is 375-100(chits)+$100(boat storage and racing fees) = $375.  This is $25 dollars cheaper then the Dinghy Racing Program, but is limited to one year.  The Dinghy Racing Program is renewed on an annual basis, and is currently in its 2nd year.  To have a laser at the club, and have full club privileges this is the best option.

If you want us to get a Laser Ramp(in addition to our 25 laser racks spots)... the best thing you can do is join as a full or young adult voting member.

To apply for Membership

Download and complete the membership application http://cpyc.org/download/Application%20pdf%201-12-2010.pdf

Come down to a Thursday night or contact Andrew  Davis.  We will take care of finding you sponsor's and supporters for the application process.  Like most yacht clubs you have to do an informal interview and then have your picture posted.  We are usually able to work out getting your Laser of V15 down at the club immediately.
