Weather is looking good, lets get a ton of boats on the water.
Despite heavy for we had 4 hard core laser sailors come out and get 8 races in right in front of the club.
Week 4 - 8 Lasers, 3 V15s. Kate B. cleaned up the night in the Laser in light air.
Week 3 - Cancelled due to weather
First two weeks of racing a success!
On June 4th our first night we had 6 lasers out racing off the hut, with stellar race committee of Sarah Henley, Jake Dewey, Dennis Rupp, and Andrew Davis. Results June 4th.   Our second night, despite overcast skies on June 11th, we had 6+ Lasers and 2 V15s on the line.  Results June 11th.  Numbers are expected to grow next week as V15s start appearing and people are back in town.

At this time we have 13 Laser's who have joined the program or have paper work in the progress, and another 2 perspectives.  V15s are at 6 boats last I heard and growing, with Jake Dewey having at least 3 V15s lined up for people interested in obtaining a good starter V15.

Our goal this coming week should be to get solid 10 Lasers and all the V15s on the water.

Sunday work party a success despite a rainy start!
Thanks to everyone who came down on Sunday, despite the bad weather we completed fixing all the docks, and finished half the carpetting. Andrew Nielson, Olaf Beck, Georges Brun-Cottan, Max Sadler and Jim Rudser.  Mike and Sandy Gahan brought down dogs and a round of drinks for lunch, then chipped in for the a final stretch.

CPYC Dinghy Racing, Work Party and Organizational Meeting
9:00 May 17th at CPYC!
We will be carpeting docks and helping build opti racks for the junior program.  Our 3 out of 4 new Sitech racks are funded and are on order, and hopefully should arrive at the end of the month.

We will have an organizational meeting on the head pier following the work party, with hot dogs and beer.  Things to discuss include race start time, fleet or team racing for V15s, transportation from downtown Boston?   First Thursday night has been proposed for May 28th or June 4th.

Please bring your membership forms and checks.  Hammers, utility knife, cordless drill and work glothes are all useful if you have them.

!!!!!!!!! Breaking News!!!!!!!!!

Last night the Board of Directors at Cottage Park Yacht Club approved creation of the CPYC Dinghy Racing Program. The program will run dinghy racing at the club from May 1st-October 31st including Thursday night racing series for Lasers, V15 and Snipes.

The CPYC Dinghy Racing Program will provide summer season access to club facility, storage(rack/float for Lasers and dolly storage for V15s/Snipes) and include racing fees for $400 for Laser, and $475 for V15/Snipes. Frostbiting during the off season will remain separate like it is today.  For existing CPYC Members you will be able to participate for just paying Thursday Night racing fees($35 Laser, $70 V15/Snipe) and you may also store your V15/Snipe on a Dolly for $105.

As of right now I already know of 6+ Laser's and 3 V15s planning to be at the club, before the program was even approved. We also identified almost 20 V15s in the Boston area without a home club and countless Lasers.  Application form and more details will be online by next week atwww.bostondinghysailing.org.

If you are interested in participating please talk to me or Julia this weekend(or even fill out the forms to join then) at CPYC Marina Weekend(We really need to make a good showing from the Frostbiters and those interested in Dinghy Racing!) or send me an email.  Hope to see you all at the Frostbite End of Season Party Sunday night.

I invite everyone to start spreading the buzz, and let the everyone know that Boston Dinghy Sailing has found a home at Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop, MA
